Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Project with the Poul Due Jensen Foundation in Togo
Since 2014, Poul Due Jensen Foundation and PlanBørnefonden have been working together to improve access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation in the Plateaux Region in Togo. The purpose of the partnership is to improve access to safe and affordable drinking water and adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for local communities in rural areas and forgotten refugee camps. Safe water, basic sanitation, and good hygiene practices are essential for the survival and development of children.
WASH Phase IV builds on previous WASH projects with an aim to contribute to improved health and prevent COVID-19 transmission through sustained and equitable access to a clean and adequate water supply, sanitation facilities, and hygiene services (WASH) in 21 rural communities reaching 74,281 beneficiaries in the Plateaux Region in Togo. The project has a duration of 23 months, from July 2021 to June 2023.

- Increased, sustainable and equitable access and consumption of clean drinking water for 74,281 beneficiaries in 21 villages.
- Improved sanitation for 74,281 beneficiaries through access to improved WASH facilities.
- Improved hygiene for 74.281 beneficiaries through WASH promotion, gender transformative & inclusive approaches and COVID-19 prevention.
